Poets, We Gods Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Poets, We Gods

Stars in the dark gleaming,
Words written and uttered beaming
Darkened royals of truth
Crucified by disciples of ignorance

Children of the word re-writing god's world
Under hearthy acts of fallen angels
Designed thorny paths,
By the word we blunt their edges
Within cages where we're tamed,
This word achieve total freedom

In oceans, we swim with sharks
We are the Atlantis unheeded
Above the clouds,
We are colorful feathered birds
We appeal to every kind that ever flew the sky
Check a poet's word and pick out one lie

Forbidden diamonds we are
Standing between both sides of the story
Telling all, rejecting favors and fears
We tell joy and tears

Fallen angels, Camouflaged by deacons' robes,
Words we utter are bile on tongues of their deeds
It's no boast, ask them why they hate a poet?
