Poison Poem by Joshua Bozarth

Poison

Her lips, moist with poison
A witch’s Potion
It must be heresy
But I need just one kiss
Even if it drops me to my knees
Her eyes are so cold
A life sentence in her prison
Is the price she chose to pay
Yet I still look in those eyes
Blistering before her gaze
Her touch ignites a fire
Unquenchable Desire
If it hurts, Let it burn
The flames rising higher
A smile makes me weak
Decaying away my armor
Soon defenseless in her presence
But incapable of harming her
In the way she moves
Awakes my imagination
I find it hard to breathe
In a sea of dreams
Praying I can weather
This platonic asphyxiation
I know this dangerous spell
Does not come from above
Beneath the crossroads
I made a deal
So walk with me to hell
Bite the forbidden fruit
Only heaven we will feel
Are you mine
Were we something
In your castle walled in
Pleading while screaming
Towards your tower
To destroy me into nothing
I have lost my armor
Poised, hardly breathing
I’m on fire shaking
Because I’m freezing
I want to forget this woman
Who holds eternal meaning
As I rest among the fallen
Blinded without seeing
