Police Case Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Police Case

'Am I failed to fulfil all your desires, son'?

'Dad, l wished to be a scientist.
I wished to be writer.
You thought, I would quit science,
the sole source of our bread and butter,
so you destroyed my writings.
Remember, the astrologer was wrong too'.

Arrest. Prison. Trial.
Convicted son released.
Dad sentenced!
