Police - The Last Shift Poem by Paul Warren

Police - The Last Shift

An end to times is what's occurred
No more the blue enforcing the word
Those years in regulation bound
Have ended now in retirement found

Putting on the uniform each day
Was routine and seemed a simple way
But taking the blue off for the final time
Seems a harder task now and not so fine.

I thought the final line might be more positive, Paul: would be hard but for the consolation of rhyme.
