Political Speech Poem by Ananya Guha

Political Speech

Rating: 4.0

The throat slit
slit her (or him) more
do her in (or him) more
propound the subtlest philosophy
of dreams. But, cut bash and slit.
If they dissent, murder.
If they write poetry
ban both the written and the spoken
word.
Take time off to propagate a nation
garbed in satirical religion.
Condemn those who speak something
else, do something else than what
you do in your god sent domes and houses.
Remember their dress also should be like
yours. Condemn infantile disbeliefs.
Take the winds out of history.
The past is gone. Will never come back.
Do you know what they did in the past?
They ate wealth.
The country sprouted so many devices,
religious I mean.
Silence.

The news has come that a man has been murdered
for blasphemy. He has eaten what we don't.
These are the the siren words my friends.
Do not hold in custody your dreams.
Otherwise you too might die unfettered.
Who are the secularists?
They are fashion ideologues
pooh pooh them till you become one!
