It's apt that the words HURRYING and RACING both appear in the first line because that is exactly what you're
doing moving swiftly to encompass these Portraits of Reality before they spin off on whatever further destiny they have. The words also describe how nimble the poet who is tracking them must be. This poem doesn't present information, but rather illustrates the fast pace needed to acquire it. It's what my fellow Minnesotan and poet Robert Bly calls LEAPING POETRY.
