Friendship counts for nothing, when love walks through the door.
No matter how it tortures us, we always want it more.
It sets our lives in turmoil and may well break our heart,
But friendship counts for nothing, till our dreams all fall apart.
It just plays Cinderella to the ugly sister's whim.
Don't kid yourself love's beautiful. It tears you limb from limb.
It's friendship soothes you sorrow, it's friendship dries your tears.
But still we all neglect it, when that monster, Love, appears.
Friendship counts for nothing, when love comes muscling in,
Demanding instant action as your head begins to spin.
But when a dose of love has wrung you dry,
It's friends who will be true, when lovers lie.
So friendship counts for nothing when love is at it's height.
But when it's run its course, we find that love's not worth a light.
So friendship counts for nothing when that bastard, Love's about,
but it will still be glowing, when the Love is all burned out.
