Poverty Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Poverty

You have found a nest in Africa
Despite the abundant resources
You built a permanent base
Where you can wreck havoc
With your powerful forces
Subjecting multitudes of Africans
To violent poverty attacks
Using guerilla tactics
Decimating thousands of women
Brutalizing millions of children
With your iron fist
And your dictatorial tendencies
You spared no one
