Practicing The Art Of Love And Mercy! Poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Practicing The Art Of Love And Mercy!

Practicing the art of love and mercy.
It has been said that people without
The true redeeming lover of Jesus
Christ in their hearts. Do not
Understand neither love nor mercy.

When the publican in the temple cried out,
"God be merciful to me a sinner." His prayers
Were indeed answered and he was justified
Through faith in his heavenly Father.

When the woman was caught in the acts of
Committing adulatory. The men from the
Oldest to the youngest wanted to stone her.
It was the old testament law for both men
And women caught in the act.

They waited for what Jesus Christ would do.
"Let he who is Among you without sin,
Cast the first stone! "Than he began writing
In the sand with his Fingers. And looked her
Accusers right in the Eye. The men departed
In the very order they came to participate
In a rock throwing contest."

"Woman where are your accurses? " Jesus Christ
Asked her."

"There are non Lord, " she replied.

"Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

It has been said the female followers of Jesus
Welcomed the redeemed woman into his sheepfold.
The men knew the law, but they did not have
Neither love nor mercy in their hearts.

His own disciples had a lot to learn as well.
They paid the ultimate fate, death. With
The exception of John, who was boiled in oil.
But refused to die! And did indeed die
But of old age!

Neither were any of them his disciples.
They who passed sentence on her were not
Without unconfessed sin in their hearts.

The prodigal son had a father who practiced the
Art of practicing love and mercy in his heart.
After his wayward son had returned, his father
Ran and welcomed him back into his household.

Jesus compared the father to his heavenly Father.
Jesus compares the youngest son to the rest
Of us. Who repent of and turn away from our sins.

Even though running was not considered dignified
For an older Jewish man to do. Daily during his
Sons journey into sin city. He would watch, wait,
And pray for the safe return of his youngest son.

The older brother harbored bitterness and resentment
Towards his prodigal brother. Failing to even claim
Relationship with him. Nor attend the part thrown
In his honor. His heart was filled with the bitter
Spirit of unforgiveness. He compared the oldest
Son with the religious leaders. They will self
Righteous and without sin in their own eyes!

In fact he was in the exact same category of
The Jewish leaders and their disciples.
It has been said Jesus was talking about the
Spirit of unforgiveness, judgement, and
Condemnation. It existed in his contemporary
Society and it exists today.

If he had his way the Pharisee would have
Blocked the tax collector from the temple.
His prayers went no higher than the ceiling.
He exalted himself above his fellow men
And women! His sins were pride, and arrogance.
Not to mention class discrimination and
Social discrimination.

Such prideful and arrogant judgmental people.
Who firmly believe in zero tolerance. for the
Sinful acts with no forgiveness. As they
Judge others, they themselves will be
Likewise judged by Jesus Christ himself.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The art of practicing love and mercy is sadly lacking among certain people even today!
