Pray Poem by Alejandro Torres

Pray

Rating: 5.0

I am drawn back
By your laughter
Almost as sweet
As Aphrodite’s nectar
A Goddess of love and joy
Heartache and mischief
Aphrodite gives us wings
Without the shine of temptation
To taste the fruits of love
However brief
We can not fly
Without her sweetness
We go about
With sickly wings
So, Darling
Pray to our Patrons
Pray to the inspirer-or
Pray that Her son’s bow
Carries your laughter
On wind
On arrow
Stealthily
To my heart
I long to fly
Unbound
To you
