Precious Encounters Poem by Andreas Schmidt

Precious Encounters

Rating: 5.0

A pebble diving into the hushed tarn
a gloved hand grasping the falling shadow
an eagle's claw seizing the rabbit
a hatchet striking from behind

Precious encounters -
all of a sudden in the secret dwelling

churning up the waters
salvaging the doomed
scaring to death
rending to the marrow.

Precious encounters -
all of a sudden they leave, leave behind
disquiet
perplexity
terror
bleeding pain.

Cocooning remembrance...

playful waves on the inanimate glaze
life turned downside up
breathtaking journey scenes
eternal scars swollen with pride.

A richer life.
And way too rare.
