Prefers Day! Poem by Denis Martindale

Prefers Day!

Some Christians like to pick and choose when they read Bible text.
That's for the Church! That's for the Jews! No wonder God gets vexed!

Some think that tithes are out-of-date, so they won't give any.
As if God's promise isn't great, they don't give a penny!

And there are those who won't explore by car or coach or train,
And don't care what a passport's for, and won't get on a plane!

The Gospel, that's for other folks, the super saints out there,
The guys who aren't like other blokes, because they're somewhat rare!

Some saints believe in miracles, while others disagree,
No wonder their faith starts then falls, though they love Calvary.

We're on a journey, every one! And each prefers their fate!
Yet can we say to Christ, God's Son, NO SACRIFICE TOO GREAT!
