Not a Droupadi of the Mahabharat
instead
The destiny of Bharat
That is India,
New India
The solemn pledge of a sovereign, socialistic
Secular democratic republic
The voice of great Bharat

A prophet of
Justice Liberty and equality
The constitution is her pride
The Tricolor's invincible journey is her glory

Sprouting from the swamps of misery, loss, neglect
and social discriminations
She is a lotus
The orangey signature
Illumining all the way
From country to metro
From Rairangpur to Raisina
She is
New Droupadi

Reassuring a new India
of peace and fraternity

Accept our submission
We present our constitution to your hands
To hear
From a joyful voice: Hails!
Hails to rule of law.

Who says you are Santali
Who says you rare an Utkali
Draupadi is not Panchali
confined to any Panchal territory
Murmu is not any maimed Adivasi

You are above parochial borders
All barriers of caste, , creed or colour
Your insight a national inbuilt
You head a nation;
The premier of largest democracy
