Pretending Poem by Glennish Gemperoa

Pretending

We had that bad look at the outside
This affected how people see us, and how we feel
Smiling, laughing as if nothing happened
But deep inside, we just hide it, and pretend

The sorrow and pain were thorns to our hearts
Having that thought that we tried to impress people
But it was such a waste, not even noticed
Looking at nothing else but our mistakes
But never the good things we’ve done, and what we tried to do

Everyday problems are always there
Waiting for us in silence
But one day, we’ll be ready
To face this world full of unexpected things
Together, we shall rise and fight till the very end
