Pain Poem by Glennish Gemperoa

Pain

Pain, that overshadowed my joy
Pain that caused me not to smile
The one that shredded my heart to bits
That I, myself, can't even put it back together

It pierces both mind and heart
Causes you to do things unwanted, unplanned
More painful than a real sword
Going through your head

Cunning and unexpected as I see it
I've been there, but still it's in me
I really want to smile, laugh even just a a pinch of happiness
Instead of crying
Yet, there's no way out... But I'm still trying
