Pretending Poem by Meagan Reid

Pretending

Put the smile back on
Dance the night away
Pretend nothing has happened
And maybe they will find out someday

My toxic tears are rolling down my face
Listen closely to my silent screams
Let it fall!
Please just let it fall!

My head rests on his shoulders
My life rests in his hands

Put the smile back on
Dance the night away
Pretend nothing has happened
And maybe they will find out someday

My toxic tears are like poison
Eating me up inside
It feels good to let them out
To put the stress aside

My life is like a play
Always pretending
The end is coming soon
As my curtain is falling

Very good but very sad to live life through a face we must paint on. Sincerely, Donna
