Price Of Life Poem by George Samuel

Price Of Life

Leave the light,
Here men have gone to war to fight,
For it was told them, violence takes by force,
Leading to the untimely demise of a promising horse,
Where would it lie waiting for light.

The trauma of darkness in death,
When one would've seen a crown,
But here he lies, adieu: where the dust is brown,
And the ants have come to claim what's theirs,
Now we wonder why in tears.

Instead love would've left us a light,
While thunder blast and heaven roar,
To clear our doubting minds that he was gone forever,
Naked as he came, in blindness and bare,
Forward as a star, where water is rare.

Face to face, it was not a dream,
And now our fears can scream,
In Victory over our last breath of faith,
Which has been our only hope why we wait,
Till this bit strangely into our family tree,
To remind us, life has a price not free.
