Priority Tasks To Be Done This Lifetime Poem by Kiran Pillai

Often I think about tasks and jobs
Why do we do something? What is priority?
After many years, I realise we really are lost
And run after shiny things like fish falling to bait.

Today, I realise I don't have time to waste
This human clock is ticking down. Let me do something.
Think of putting time and effort in places that matter
And not be bothered about just filling in time.

Sometimes, I feel I don't want anything more.
I have received as much as I need in life.
This is time to give back to the planet.
Hence, I can leave earth peacefully with no regrets.

Why should I be bound to earth for more lifetimes?
This prison planet is just a temporary abode.
I don't have intentions to get stuck in births here
This planet is just an "office" till retirement.

So, when I set out to leave this planet in some years
I must be ready with solid outcomes that happened.
Outcomes are solid only when properly executed
Let me do some high priority work then.

Maybe I am not thinking in the right direction
Maybe I am misguided with my assumptions.
But, these assumptions make my purpose better.
Let me do some high priority work this lifetime.
