Hang On. Not Release Too Fast! Poem by Kiran Pillai

Hang On. Not Release Too Fast!

Rating: 5.0

Hang on to tensions as much
Don't look for releases too easy
I have been going the easy way
Too long in life. Not helpful; easy way!

All souls who moved beyond
Held tensions and pressures well.
They could carry weight and run hard
Till they reached the pedestal glory!

We millenials are called weak
For not hanging on to pressures.
Not anymore old men! We strong too!
See how we withstand pressure now.

Always looking for a release. Always!
Watch a viral video. Go digital.
Take a drink. Maybe a drag or two.
These releases don't make men of us.

I know now that tensions make men!
Look at cricketers who hold nerves
Till the very last ball of the last over.
Or the penalty shootout in football matches.

Tensions make real women too.
Seen women hold on till the very end
Save lives and save families with grace.
Look for a release and you are dead spirit.

Welcome tensions and pressures like humans
History belongs to those who held pressures.
I know all I need to do is not to release too fast
Hang on. Hold on. Be strong. Be brave!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Weakness comes from not being able to hang on and withstand tensions. This poem calls out not to release tensions too fast by looking at distractions. All people who gained greatness passed through roads of immense tensions. Look at sports champions for obvious examples.
