Prison Planet Poem by Gaston Belanger

Prison Planet

The quaking smoldering orb
Countless lives it has absorbed

Featuring myth, fear, and superstition
All religions being formed from this position

Survival of the fittest being the main motivation
Genetic mishaps, virus, bacteria, saps life’s occupation

Weather, pest and pestilences rob human kind of sustenance
An Ellipse orbit creates day’s with dangerous inconsistence

Sun exploding unregulated radiation creating hurricanes
Volumes of water drop from a sky flooding desert planes

Howling winds blow mortal structures of into oblivion
Men in ornate robes pray to an angry God in pavilions

Volcanoes spew fire, rocks, and ash displacing lives
Mountains quake leveling villages no one survives

Rivers over flow flooding communities in mud
Sanitation always a problem inducing crud

Unpredictably bad ocean tsunami waves
Only safe place is high mountain caves

Snow an Ice freeze the mortal frame
Cabin fever makes them all insane

Deserts of no water hot and dry
Throned plants make you cry

Paved city’s rife with crime
Perverts loose, like slime

Rent, taxes, roads of toll
Working slave gets old

Death is inevitability
After life possibility

None know for sure
No one has a cure!

Sex! started it all
Life is not a ball

Reality dictates
Pain dominates

Is it worth it?
Suckled a tit

Living days
Life’s maze

Hey Jesus
