Prisoner Of My Pain Poem by chaymarie young

Prisoner Of My Pain

Rating: 5.0

Life wasn't always very easy for me,
all the sleepless nights,
all the harsh flashbacks of my cousin molesting me.
Missing the warmth of my mothers' touch,
the everlasting love from my fathers' hugs.
My heart became cold as if it was stuck below a frozen pond.
Being a prisoner of my pain,
too afraid to break through.
Not taking my life because after all the pain and suffering there comes joy and happiness,
as a smile comes upon my face,
I am now no longer a prisoner of my pain.
