Prisons Without Bars Poem by Mariah Ali

Prisons Without Bars

Rating: 4.5

 I turn left
I turn right
I see me standing free
But nay I feel shackles around me

I try to move but still feel shackle around me
Shackles unseen
She sees me and whisper to herself
How lucky I am

Because all seem together for me
I do not lack
I exude beauty
And perfection

If only she knew
If only she knew
If only she can see beyond the surface
That, some prisons are without bars
