Private Thoughts Poem by Frederick Nellist

Private Thoughts

Thoughts are words left unspoken
the shadows that dwell in the mind
They are promises not yet broken
the silent words that can be unkind.

What we are is the result of thought
yesterdays thoughts flourish today
Private thoughts can not be bought
thinking too loud leads you astray.

Thoughts are our dreams not yet true
imagination of mind yet to be done
Constructive thinkers are very few
day dreamers usually don't have fun.

The price of a thought is quite cheap
not deterring the thinking of many
Your thoughts can be shallow or deep
the current price is only one penny
