Productivity Poem by Suki Miku

Productivity

Today I learned
that falling in love
has been scientifically proven
to make people less productive.
If that is true
then I suppose I must love you
more than any being has ever loved another.
I must love you more
than waves love to kiss the shore.
I must love you more
than a flame loves dry timber.
I must love you more
than my hair loves to disagree with me
and my socks love to fall off
when I go to bed with them on and
dust loves to accumulate on that old guitar
that just sits in my room
alone.
I must love you more
than the moon loves the sun.
Because for months all I've been able
to do is sit and stare
at whatever is put in front of me.
I don't draw or write or read
like I did before I met you.
All I do is think.
I suppose my destiny was set
the moment I first looked in your eyes
(and I haven't stopped since) .
