Prom - Poem by Jasmine Thompson

The base was pumpin'
our feet jumpin'
bodies swayin'
music playin'

I took your girl away to dance
taught her some moves
thinking she could groove
found out that she can't

Last song played
I stole you away
but then felt bad
for my friend

So we switched it up
had some fun
never thought
I'd like you some

When we danced
I gave us space
but in one move
you had us face to face

But prom is done
these feelings will stay
hoping you'll
ask me out one day
