Promise - Poem by Krystin Cargo

Left in solitude alone

Waiting for a time and place

To tell you what I'm really thinking

It's harder then you'll ever know

Because you'll never understand

Hating where I'm left right now

It's not fair I have done nothing

To show you what I'm feeling

It's like cutting into water that is dry

Pointless and yet disturbing

Taking from me all the things in which

I thought I had control

Dying just to look at you

I cannot see when you are blind

Killing me softly all the fucking time

I'm stuck here and I'll waste away pretending that I never met you

Depressing yet satisfying

It intrigues me just to listen

To the things that fade away from memories we never had

I'll lie to you if need be

But I'll never be dishonest

Entertaining hypocrisy is my goal and I will accomplish it

…I promise
