Protest Against Homogenization Poem by Whitney Jones Olson

Protest Against Homogenization

'Tis my spleen 't makes me write,
A mummified epileptic screaming
somewhere in Mexico
Licking eyeballs and 700 piercings
in 4 years
Everyone's story is my story,
all this country wants to do is protect
you and police my desire to
appreciate the rhythms only yours.
I may be 4-4 time,
I'm going to dance in 4/8.
(I'm no tempo, just always moving.)
