Proud And Patient Poem by Edwina Reizer

Proud And Patient

If you choose to love me or not
is not up for debate,
All I can do is hope that you will
if long enough I wait.
Years may come and years may go
and the stars can disappear.
And all the things I love about you
others may overhear.
For I'm not bashful. I'm not shy.
I can shout it to the sky.
And the mountainous echo that forms
might be my lone reply
that you do.
