Punch-Drunk Poem by Emma Louise Adams

Punch-Drunk

Punch-drunk
Punched
A drunk and his wallet are easily parted
Outsmarted
Dazed
But unfazed
Crash- bang-wallop!
Between the perpetual chaos
A story
A moment of glory
Glorious!
Screamingly funny
Words are money
Deadly serious
For a drink
Collect 200 pounds as you pass go
Punched
Punch-drunk
A drunk and his wallet are easily parted
Big hearted
Each day
A replay of
French farce
And Tarantino
Pure Jean-Luc Godard
Class
In a glass
Rendezvous at the Ritz
A park bench
Very French
A cheap hotel
A tale to tell

Punch-drunk
Punched
A drunk and his wallet are easily parted
