Pursuit Poem by Sabishii Chojutsuka

Pursuit

A gracious gift
A joyful bundle
Proud smiles upon their faces
A sweet child in their arms.

They wish for nothing else
Their lives complete
The void in their hearts filled
Their sorrow banished forever more.

A piercing scream
The rush of feet
Unearthly silence
The floor bathe in crimson.

A mothers scream
A fathers cry
Their joy taken
Their babe has died.

Hate fills their eyes
They search for the culprit
Broken to pieces
A fitting death.

They cuddle the corpse
Once filled with youth
Now gone from this life
Their hearts in pursuit.
