Qualified Friends
It appears
in their efforts to clean out the lower spheres
know-it-alls
have unearthed high corruptions with the low.
High has come over all indignant
to scare the tappers
into not revealing what they know.
Any capitalist advantage
the tappers could have gained on the side
can now be directed straight to the militarists;
too bad for those for whom war is bad.
What makes me mad
is that the know-it-alls deliberately ignored
how low high feels
when a qualified friend
has knowledge of his deals.
And if they plead ignorance
out of not knowing all
they are nothing but for what passes
as smart-arses,
under-qualified, by my call,
worthy of the sack
to get our friend back.

diane says your poem explains it better.. what i'm looking for is a poem to explain the poem. i guess not being there (in australia, as well as not in the author's mind) i can be forgiven for not understanding, though at least there is a poet note! i thought, while reading, that it might have something to do with the u.s.a and NSA and all the stuff in the news over here about leaks of confidential emails, memos, etc. etc. i guess there ARE other countries with 'problems'! :) thanks for sharing. p.s. how come only douglas and i are identified ph members online last i looked? is it dinner time? by golly, it is!
