Quarantine Infinite Poem by Tribhuvan Mendiratta

Quarantine Infinite

A Mask I always wore
And today it is required more
Reasons have differed
Reality is deferred
In the middle of a city
A million epiphanies occurring
Stay inside until they're done.
Wander lonely as a cloud,
Confined alone to avoid a shroud
A caged bird I sing
With a shivering trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
Twisting and turning thrice
Another night of Fire and Ice
My friends I love thee but love sways
Yey love you can count a million ways.
I love thee to any dimension of soul
When feeling out of sight.
Better yet, actually be out of sight.
Looking is all you'll get tonight
To hold your hand would be unwise.
Hope springs eternal in this breast
But still, have to avoid the face.
There is Clorox-wipe out every trace.
Even dreams can't go gentle into good night
without first Purelling.
So, what happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
We're gonna find out - pray!
Can't act on it until at least -
I can't even guess and say!
