Questions Poem by Herbert Dry

Questions

If I am surrounded by darkness does that mean I
should not believe there is light
On top of the darkest cloud the sun is
shining bright

I do not covet the things of tomorrow today is
the day in which
I live
Tomorrow is only a maybe
today is for real

Shall I have the answer before the question
is asked
Will there be thunder if there is no
lightning flash

Shall I cast a stone into the water
and it not sink
Shall I open my mouth to speak
before I think

Will the grass turn green without the
aid of the sun
Will a person cry when they are
having fun

Shall I only look in books my answers
to find
Shall I not use common sense or to this
am I blind
