Quiet - Poem by Meredith Marie

i'd love for you to love me -
in fact, theres nothing i'd like more.
by now you've probably figured out
it's YOU these tears are for.

i'd like for you to whisper
[quietly], to me.
all the thoughts you keep inside
when it's my face,
you see.

i'd like for you to like me,
friends, aquantinces, more?
swapping brands or holding hands,
it's YOU that i adore.

i'd love for you to whisper-
[quiet] in my ear
all the things you long to say,
when it's my name,
you hear
