Quiet Comfort Poem by Deborah Dalton

Quiet Comfort

Rating: 5.0

I like to be quiet
Sometimes

I like to sit in still silence &
Allow it to envelop me
Encase me in it's cloak of
Empty echoes

I like the way it seeps beneath
My skin and calms my,
Thoughts
Slows the mad pace of
My racing heart
Eases the flow of the liquid
Running through my veins

I like the way it slowly erases
Images of chaos
Muffles the
Memory of harsh & abrupt noises
Extinguishes my anxieties,
Frustrations, worries &
Petty fears

I like the way it expands my senses
It allows me to see with my
Eyes closed
Witness colors beyond spectrums
Feel sounds no ear can hear

It allows me, spiritually, a chance to
Roam

To travel through random numbered
Dimensions

Uncalculated planes

I twist & turn as needed
Working through
Chasms & numerous
Undiscovered worlds

Worlds littered throughout alternate
Universes
Spinning around & through
Unimaginable axis's
Weight-less
Mass-less
Space-less
Time-less

Just the ability to create a location and
Be there

Ahh!

The wondrous beauty of it all!

Come,

I can take a companion with me and share

Just sit & enter my
Quiet
Comfort
Portal

And, in a few negligible moments
You too, will be aware!
