Quilts are such beautiful treasures
That helps make a home cozy
In the firelight of the freezing winter
We feel comfortable and toasty
And the Mennonite ladies have
An extraordinary kind of ability
That is created from their fingers
With a tremendous amount of creativity
For you see, the sky is the limit
When it comes to their designs
As they cut and stitch together
Whatever pattern comes to mind
Grouped together with tradition
These ladies enjoy a quilting bee
Then quilts are placed on display
For everyone to see
So many ways to adorn them
With buttons, ribbon and lace
Passed down to many generations
An heirloom that folks can embrace
Sometimes they are given
As a gift for a birthday or a wedding
And isn’t it a wonderful thing?
Such a treasure they’ll be giving!
