Rain Poem by Rahul Aithal

Rain

Hot summer's night,
lay wide awake.
Restless.
Burning heat
and a love turned fake.
Merciless.

Felt the scent,
wafting through the air.
Softly.
Few drops followed
to heal and care.
Gently.

Rustling of leaves,
sweet sound on roof top.
Rain.
Enters through the window,
turning my soul-knob,
Again.

I am awake,
sense something grow.
Deep in.
Doused the heat,
lit the fire though.
Within.

A tree spreads arms,
fills up itself,
drinking.
A bird opens the beak,
drenches itself,
singing.

Mind wakes up,
heart dreams,
romancing.
Rain splatters,
love seems,
dancing.
