Rain Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Rain

I left my house feeling the rain,
It uplifted my spirit,
Got rid of the pain.
It was the rain of softness.

Oh the pitter-patter,
Of delicate raindrops falling,
My happiness,
Arising.

You know, I didn't miss the sun.
I wanted from it to run,
Because the wetness kept me here.
It made me let go of my fear.

I greeted the rain with my raincoat wet,
I didn't fume and didn't fret.
The rain it gave me a drizzling smile,

The rain became my forever friend.
