Rain Before Rainbow Poem by courtney metcalf

Rain Before Rainbow

Razor blade scribble just
A girl in the middle
In between perfect and nervous that
No one will ever see her purpose
Because she doesn't fit in with
Everyone else. She doesn't realize that she has
Forgotten herself.
One boy comes along and
Reminds her that she's worth something.
Everything changes, the only
Red is her blushing. Her need for the knife fades
Away. He is literally her life, her saving grace.
Intertwined in love, she feels her heart is bound
Never to abandon this sweet salvation she has found.
Books couldn't speak of a love like this, fairytales couldn't touch
Only this boy who is her's that she loves very much.
Will they have problems? Yeah, maybe so.. but I've always heard that a little rain always helps things grow.
