Rainfall-1 Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Rainfall-1

Yearning for
In hope and desire
An art that talks
About many myths
Traditional
And conventional
To meet an abrupt end
End of scorching heat.
No more remains
Worldly hunger
Thirst and pain
Gracefully
Submitting gratitude
In pleasure and pain
In honour of KHWAZA
And INDERDEV
Both gods of rain
For enough of rain
And no loss
Loss of lives and crops.

Watching out for
The rain stepping in
Embracing whole creation.
The mother Nature
Taking charge and care
Care of sky falls on earth
Earth waiting for
Well dressed in multi-colours
A dress meant for the occasion
Dancing together with
Enjoying and celebrating.

Coming the flooding water
While going sweeping
And the rainbow
In the northern region
Over the high peaks
Of Himalayan mountains
A magnificent
Welcome gate in the sky
Perhaps, leading to heaven.

Glowing greenery
With its healing impact
Sourcing gleam lustrous
Wrinkle free face of nature
Fauna and flora
The deep forests
Casting and crewing
Its dying creation.
The lovers stealing a kiss
Dancing
And singing Qawlies
In praise of rain
Balancing
Across the globe
Globe as a whole.

By getting engaged
Just a little aftermath
All about the looks
Memories for ever
Life is filled with
Mixed reactions-
Reactions of happiness
Sadness and tears
Smiles and laughter
Devastating fears
And other emotions alike.
