Rains Of Revolution Poem by Lingam ajji

Rains Of Revolution

I wanna rain-
Flooding every rampant street,
Washing the foolish norms
Into the cities very drain.

I wanna rain-
Down on prejudices
Pressing servitude,
Oozing centuries of pain.

I wanna rain-
On those good hearts,
Cleansing tears of discrimination,
For their fights never in vain.

I wanna rain-
Demolishing walls of privileges,
Opening new paths
To include all humanity and gain.

I wanna rain-
Abolishing inequalities
Until it gets brighter,
Decent and sane.

I wanna rain-
'Til the blossoms of equality-
Blooms in those hopeless faces
Enduring bias forever ingrain.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's 2020 and women are still treated like second class citizens and have to worry about one's safety everywhere we go.
This is a poem I wrote challenging societal norms which are biased towards patriarchal beliefs.
