Rainy April Poem by Temitope Adebowale

Rainy April

The rains is brewing in the kettle
It steams condensing over the mountains
Hoping it spews its fluid upon us
To usher in the greens
With lightening speed the lightening bellows across the sky
That is home calling melody to my ears
End of work on the fields
Praying whatever gods that be
Let down the rains
To cool mother's tongue
Soothing her bosom
As early as April
