Rascal Child (With Apologies To Knaled Juma) Poem by Kevan Taplin

Rascal Child (With Apologies To Knaled Juma)

Oh come you rascal child
In the street below
Your noise and all your laughter
In that evening glow

And you stole a single flower
From my balcony
The loss of that single flower
Was all it was to me.

The noise and the chaos
From the streets below…
But now there's just the silence
In that evening glow.

Come back
Just come back
Come back
Just come back
Because I don't want this silence

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The inspiration for this came from the moving pictures of Gaza on newsreels this year, which lead me to the poet Khaled Juma.
