Raven's Song Poem by Morimyth Weaver

Raven's Song

I call upon my ravens with
this soulful sorrow's song.
With wings black and protective
As the coldest night is long.
Fly with me and keep me safe
From this world's biggest wrongs.
Help me see with clarity, oh,
With this sorrow's song.

And if time comes I have to fight,
Oh, please lend me your claws.
And send forth word toward my gods,
I still obey their laws.
But in this moment, I protect
Myself, though I have flaws.
Lend me your gorgeous black wings, ravens
With this sorrow's song.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sang to the tune of Good King Wenceslas, this paganization of a Christian holiday song honors the Raven Queen, Mother of Darkness, Omen of Death, Dealer of Fate, and Carrion of Souls. These entities are sometimes known as the Morrigan, sometimes Hecate, sometimes Persephone, and sometimes the Moirai. They see and know all that is to pass, has past, and is in passing. Their one eye pierces all mists and glamour, and seals the fate of those who would cause harm to their disciples - 333
