Ray Of Hope Poem by Danny Joseph

Ray Of Hope

I come to a screeching halt
Unperturbed as the world races by default
Lost in the world of thoughts of my own
Till I’m prodded by a solitary soul

Glints at me with a question on the face
If I could more than afford to spare some change
Unrelentingly she made it a point to engage me
Timid though it was a battle for her to foresee

Agile and nimble I sprang to her rescue
Time was less as the race would ensue
Surprised with the outcome she squinted with a glee
There was nothing to lose but blessings for me

Routine I chance always upon the same enchanting face
Pleasantries exchanged almost every time in pace
No streak of greed, no gluttony, no avarice of any sort
Destiny is what connected our hearts on this port

To one fine day I see her no more
Questions arise in my mind galore
My thoughts and prayers for that mortal lift up
Hoping that she’s some place buckled-up

Umpteen souls languishing near and around
In this fast paced race they cry aloud
For them, I wish this earth was more than a haven
Looking above, I pray – Abba, let your will be done! ! !
