Raze Cole Hall /Niu Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Raze Cole Hall /Niu

the governor has spoken
in all his political wisdom

he will saddle Illinois taxpayers
with higher taxes

to raze the site of a killing
and build a memorial there

to satisfy his urge to do good
and divert attention

from his inability to govern
and be fiscally responsible
