Rally For Peace Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Rally For Peace

Rating: 0.5

Slovenly protesters begin the long march
waving the usual banners one sees
time and again

No war for oil!

Then they go home to a warm apartment
parking the van in a heated garage

The guy next to me on the sidewalk
says, 'Protests about Vietnam ended
as soon as the draft did - why? '

Human nature I suppose
only stupid soldiers unaware
of who writes history
fight on

as my pacifist friend asserts
equating Nazis with today's
stupid soldiers
