Re-Imagining India Poem by Keshab Mansukhani

Re-Imagining India

Rating: 5.0

If you selectively ignore the ills of our own past
How can you expect to change the present…so fast?

Force & fear only bends the timid mind
It is not how democracies treat their own kind.

Why does everybody need to be the same?
Why should everybody contribute to your fame?

A visionary is one who takes yeas & the nays along
Proving those that disagree…completely wrong.

Your own Karma shall soon catch up with you
In this very life, it depends on how & what you do.

Hollow words, merely repeated again & again
do not become true, until they alleviate actual pain.

Now of what use is your faith…if it only divides
Forcing the entire nation to take extreme sides.

Do not take our love & turn it to hate
Live by your own words before it gets too late.

A nation that won independence with minimum loss of blood
Must act against the fringe on both sides and damn this flood.
