Re Vignes And Grapes

Rating: 5.0

After saying it Vig-nez
and trying it in French
I settled on saying Vignes
to rhyme with signs.

It's the surname of the twins
in 'The Vanishing Half' *-
Stella and Desiree.
Brit Bennett doesn't say
if it's -ree or -ray.

'No matter' says B D Dear**,
admitting to Vig-nez and -ree.
'Well it matters to me - I rhyme, ' say I,
who call Desiree Downy and Stella Powdery
after the mildews that got my vines this year.
