Reach For Me Poem by Bianca J. Walker

Reach For Me

You don’t understand the difficulty
in trying to love someone whose never
felt love. To offer your inner being to
someone incapable of feeling.

So many nights you’ve left me
confused, unaware of what I should do.
Should I stay or should I leave you.
I never wanted to choose, and in those moments
I learned that I can’t be without you.
I understand now that you’ve
been damaged at the source, wounded at your core,
unaware of your worth, and paralyzed by the hurt.

Let me help you move forward.
Believe me when I tell you that you are worthy of so much more.
Sit for a minute and let me explain how desperately I want to
take away your pain, and show you how to love again.

If only you’d let me hold you near and erase your fears,
dry your tears and dismantle your doubt.

I would show you that I can’t live without ….You – but
we can’t go on like this either

Let me help you break your guard down.
How can I prove to you that you can believe what I say?
Let me love your sadness away…
Let me love your lonely away…
Today, tomorrow and always…

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do
for you if only you’d allow me too.
Reach for me, as I reach for you, and I will show you in action and deed, unconditionally what you mean to me without hesitation.
When you are ready…I’ll be waiting.
